Milwaukee’s Best Shooter?

The Bucks can clinch their first NBA championship since 1971 on Tuesday night — and it’s not all about their Big Three.

Milwaukee may have invested a combined $85.7 million in their star trio this season, but at $4.9 million, Pat Connaughton has quietly been crucial to this series.

The bench player has improved from the perimeter as the stakes have risen — all while averaging more minutes.

  • Regular season: 6.8 points, 1.5 threes (37.1%), 22.8 minutes
  • First three postseason rounds: 6.1 points,1.3 threes (36.1%), 21.5 MPG
  • Finals: 11.0 points, 3.0 threes (50%), 31.4 MPG

Among the players in this Finals who have attempted at least 30 three-pointers — including Khris Middleton, Devin Booker, and Chris Paul — Connaughton has the best percentage at 50%.

Last offseason, the Bucks gave the 28-year-old a three-year, $16 million Early Bird contract. He’ll be an unrestricted free agent by 2023, and every team including Milwaukee will covet a shooting guard with a reputation for knocking down treys in the Finals.

Connaughton and the Bucks are five-point* favorites in Game 6 (9 p.m. ET, ABC).
